Visiting Santiago

I think that Santiago has a lot of places to go, but it depends of what kind of turist you are and what are you looking for,what places, you will visit.

For example, if you want to know about history, you have to go to some museum, like "Natural history museum", or visit tradicional buildings like The Mint, National Library, Cousiño Palace, Square of guns, and others.

Now, if you want to visit typical places, you can go to central market to eat curanto or fish without spend a lot of money, central station, bellavista neighborhood, and others.

If you are looking adventure and do excercise, you can go with your bike to San Cristobal hill, or use any cycle path in santiago, even, if you don`t have your own bike, you can to rent one in providencia for a while and it is very cheap.

If you are young and you want to go to a party, you can go to bellavista neighborhood, there you can go to drink beer or dance, in manuel montt street, you can find a lot of pubs to go with friends, also you can visit Saint Enrique square, where are discos to dance.

Really, I think that in santiago you have a lot of things to do and places to go.

Skins

Really, I like a lot of TV series, but the last one that I saw complete was the british Skins, I saw by youtube, and then you could see it by HBO, and now by MTV.

This serie is about a group of young friends, who had problems with drugs, alcohol, sexuality, eating disorders, dysfunctional families, etc.

I like Skins, because it shows very different realities, in a different culture. And also, like I said in another post, I like the british accent.

Also, I like the music and the aesthetics of this serie.

But, I have to say that my favourite was the first season, because then, when appears new characters the serie makes it worse.

I think that Skins shows different type of young people, who not always have space to be on television. And it is entertaining and after every chapter you wants to know what is going to happen on the next one.

But, Skins is not a comedy, because it haves a lot of drama.

The principal characters are Tony, the popular and attractive guy, his sexy girlfriend, Michelle, his best friend Syd.
Cassie, the girl with eating disorder, Chris, the party guy, Jall, the clever and strict girl, Maxxie is the homosexual, and Anwar, the young muslim.

All of them have different problems during the serie.

TranSantiago

When I came to live in santiago, transantiago was already here. So, I can`t compares between this system and the old system of transport.

At the beginning I had problems with my bus, 106, because it always was late and I had had to wait a lot of time. I remember that time that I had to wait during one hour and twenty minutes! It was awful.

But, when my bus arrived it was great, because almost always it was empty. So, I could travel sitting and read.

I was happy because I didn`t have to use subway every day. But now, I moved to another flat and I have to use subway to go to university, but the good thing is that I have to go in the opposite direction of the most of people. This is a advantage to me.

But I think that I am a very lucky person in that way, an exception, because sometimes the subway was really crowded and stinking, specially now, when the weather are changing to be sunny and hot. It was unpleasant.

This system have good aspects, like Bip card, because is faster and safety than money. Also, now is more organized and you can visit http://www.transantiago.cl/ to know where are the stations, bus stops, and what bus do you have to take.

Europe

If I have to choose any place to visit I would choose Italy. I would really like to know Europe and specially this country, because it always have been interesting to me.

I have some relatives who lives there, so I could go to visit them (I wish that it happen) Although, if I could go to Italy, obviously, also I would visit every countries that my money and time let me.

Also I like these language, so I want to take italian lessons next year, and who knows if then I can go there to study for a season.

Another country that I really wants to visit is England, like some of my classmates. First of all I love british english, british pronunciation.

Also, I like british music, I like Coldplay, and lately I have been listened more brit-pop music, and it sounds cool.

Finally, I remember that the first time that I saw a picture from Mykonos, the Greek Island, I really love it. The picture was shows some white buildings just in the border to the beach. And the water was very blue and clean.
So, if someday I can go to Europe with a lot of money, I would like to visit this beautiful island.

Trip and changes

During last term I was living with my brother here in santiago. Before that I was living with him and my cousin, but he left.
At that time, I had to do almost every houseworks, because my brother was untidy and he didn´t collaborate too much.
Although, I liked to live with my brother, but at the end of the semestre he traveled because he got a scholarship for a year in his university.

At university I had new subjects, like radio. I liked this one, because it was funny, but very stressful. The exam of this subject was a radio program of the topic that we decide, and I was the announcer of my group. I was really nervous, but then everything was okay.

During the summer I went to Brazil with three friends more. I enjoyed a lot this travel, because I´ve never been there before. We could visit beautiful beaches and met very nice people.

I hope that next summer I can travel to another place that I don´t know to make the most of time before I have to start to work.

My english blog

Well, for my last task I have to write about my experience of blogging in english class. I think that it was a very good idea and a very good way to improve my english.

I believe to practice will do the master, so if we write to this blog each class, and then we check the corrections, we can write better. These are some advantages of blogging in english class, but also this blog has some disadvantages to me, for example, sometimes it was difficult for me start to write, because I don´t know what write. And the topics about we have to write were a little boring to me.

Nevertheless, I think that blogging is a modern and common way to comunicate, and it is a very useful tool to learn any new language. And it isn´t just an individual homework, it is a group work, because you have to write comments in classmate´s blogs, and also you had the corrections of your teacher.

Always I think that blogs are a way to meet to the rest of the class, and know how they think and things relative to our career, journalism. Because, this class had student of different courses, so is difficult for us meet everybody.

Dreaming...

Well, if I would have to choose my ideal job, I think that I prefer work as a productor editor on TV channel or traveling around the world and writing about different countries, like in a travel magazine.

I like these jobs because I can see me in a few years doing that. Really I don´t know if I will be good in these jobs, but I would try to do my best.Also, I would like to travel and know different places, food, people, etc.

In both jobs I would have to use all tools and knowledges that I had learnt at university, and also I would have to use my creativity and personality.

Maybe it would be difficult find jobs like these, because they are better than writing all day in a office. I think so.

But, I will have to be satisfied with my future job, even if it doesn´t is my perfect or ideal job. I prefer don´t expect so much, I will just try to make my job the best that I can.
